4 Tips to Help Your Vehicle Beat the Heat This Summer
Remember, extreme heat can be harmful to your vehicle. Here are four tips to help protect your vehicle this summer:
1. Don’t drive on bald tires. In extreme heat, that scorching hot road can be tough on your tires. If the rubber is already worn down the hot Summer pavement can be the straw that broke the camel’s back. This can lead to a flat or a complete blowout.
2. Schedule an AC service to make sure that you and your passengers are comfortable in the extreme heat. There’s nothing worse than having your air condition quit on you in the middle of a 100-degree Summer day.
3. Make sure to have your fluids changed and your belts and hoses checked. It’s important to make sure your engine is in tiptop condition before venturing out in to the heat. If you have anything wrong with your vehicle that could lead to your engine overheating, this will be exacerbated by the Summer temperatures.
4. Parking in the shade whenever possible will help keep your engine compartment cool. Extreme heat can have negative effect on your battery life. Some sweet shade can spare you a few degrees and hopefully keep your battery from suffering any heat related damage.
